Martial Arts Code of Honor

“Fighting takes place only on the mat or in the ring, never on the street. The techniques you learn may only be used to defend yourself or others. You may never use your fighting techniques against someone who cannot defend themselves. Honor, loyalty, and adherence to the code are more important than any fighting technique, rank, or title.”

Rules of Conduct for Members

• The use of doping and stimulants is prohibited.
• The use of poorly maintained and/or unsafe equipment and tools is prohibited; this applies both to the organization’s equipment and tools as well as those of the athlete.
• Respect is shown to our partner (and his/her level).
• We are always sportsmanlike, even if others are not.
• Everyone must wear sufficient protective gear during training to prevent injuries.
• The member is obliged to disclose his or her health condition if it could have a negative impact on the practice of the sport.
• Jewelry, piercings, etc. that pose a risk of injury to the wearer or others must be removed or taped over.
• Possession or use of drugs in and around the sports complex is not permitted and will immediately result in a ban.
• Discrimination, swearing, foul language, teasing, bullying, provoking, or hurting anyone will not be accepted and may lead to sanctions.

• The use of mobile phones or having a mobile phone switched on is prohibited in the training hall and during lessons.
• Smoking in the building is strictly prohibited.
• You must be present at training at least 5 to 10 minutes before the start.
• We take care of each other’s belongings and those of the facility/gym/club.
• You must maintain good personal hygiene, such as short and clean nails, fresh breath, etc.
• Athletes are required to have adequate health insurance.
• The use of doping and stimulants is prohibited.

Code of Conduct for the Trainer

The trainer:

• respects members, parents/guardians, and supervisors,
• instills passion for the sport in members,
• is responsible for the training materials,
• ensures that the dojo is cleared of used materials (on time) after training,
• sees the added value of using martial arts as a tool for member development,
• creates a safe and trusting environment in their training,
• prevents the use of doping and stimulants,
• treats every member equally, regardless of background or level,
• pays attention to fair play,
• does not consume alcohol (or tobacco) during training,
• ensures that mobile phones are not used during classes,
• ensures that mobile phones are turned off during classes,
• ensures that the house rules and code of conduct for members are followed.

Code of Conduct for Members' Parents/Guardians

The parent:

• is a good supporter and sets a good example by showing respect for everyone,
• remains aloof from the supervision of members by coaches and supervisors,
• ensures that their son/daughter is on time for training or a match,
• ensures that their son/daughter cancels their training or match on time,
• addresses their son/daughter for any misconduct.
